Program Commitment & Tuition
Enrollment in The Story Studio is a commitment to the full four-month Academy. Our program is designed as a progressive experience, with each month building toward rehearsals and a final theatrical showcase.
Tuition is $600 for the four-month program, plus a $150 one-time registration fee, for a total program cost of $750.
Families may choose to:
Pay in Full: $750 at enrollment.
Monthly Payment Plan: $300 at enrollment, which includes the $150 registration fee and first month’s $150 tuition, followed by three monthly payments of $150.
The monthly option is a payment plan for the full four-month program, not month-to-month enrollment. By enrolling, families are reserving their student’s place for the entire Academy and agree to complete all scheduled tuition payments.
The registration fee helps cover

Rotating Academies
The Story Studio operates in four-month Academies, with new sessions offered throughout the year. Each Academy is designed as its own complete experience, taking students from acting exercises, improvisation, and storytelling through rehearsals and a final theatrical showcase.
Academies may feature different material, creative focuses, and performance opportunities, allowing returning students to continue developing their skills while experiencing something new each session.
Enrollment is completed separately for each four-month
-
Ages & Eligibility
The Story Studio is designed primarily for students ages 10–15. Because much of our work involves scripts, scene study, and collaborative performance, students should be comfortable reading and working with age-appropriate written material.
Students outside the 10–15 age range may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on reading level, maturity, and readiness for the program. If you're unsure whether The Story Studio is the right fit for your child, please reach out—we're happy to talk with you before enrollment.
-
Schedule & Location
The Story Studio meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30–6:00 PM throughout each four-month Academy.
Classes are held at the Twin View Building at Bethel Church in Redding, California:
936 Twin View Blvd
Redding, CA 96003Specific Academy dates, holiday breaks, showcase details, and any scheduled changes will be communicated to enrolled families in advance.
Because each Academy builds progressively toward the final showcase, consistent attendance is strongly encouraged, particularly as students move into rehearsals and ensemble work.

What Happens in an Academy?
Each four-month Academy is a complete creative journey, designed to build skills, confidence, and connection while working toward a final theatrical showcase.
Students begin with acting exercises, improvisation, theatre games, and storytelling, creating a space to experiment, take creative risks, and grow more comfortable performing with others.
As the Academy progresses, the focus shifts into character work, scene study, script work, and ensemble performance. Students learn how to make strong creative choices, communicate onstage, take direction, support their castmates, and bring a story to life.
The final portion of the Academy moves into rehearsal and production, where everything they've been learning comes together. Each session culminates in a live theatrical showcase for family and friends, giving students the opportunity to experience the excitement—and accomplishment—of taking a performance from the rehearsal room to the stage.
Every Academy features new material and creative challenges, so returning students can continue building their skills while experiencing something completely new.
-
Experience Required?
No previous acting or theatre experience is required. The Story Studio is designed for students who love performing as well as those who are trying it for the first time.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Enrollment in The Story Studio reserves your child’s place for the full four-month program. Because space is limited and our program is designed as a progressive experience culminating in a theatrical showcase, enrollment represents a commitment to the complete four-month session.
Cancellations before the program begins: Tuition payments are refundable if written cancellation is received at least 14 days before the program start date. The $150 registration fee is non-refundable, as it helps cover administrative costs, program preparation, supplies, and materials purchased in advance.
Cancellations after the program begins: Once the four-month session has begun, the registration fee and tuition payments already made are non-refundable. Families enrolled in the monthly payment plan remain responsible for the remaining tuition balance for the four-month session.
If The Story Studio cancels the program, families will receive a refund of tuition paid for any portion of the program that is not provided.
We understand that exceptional circumstances can arise. Requests related to significant unforeseen circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of The Story Studio.
Missed classes: Tuition and fees are not prorated or refunded for classes missed due to illness, travel, scheduling conflicts, or other personal circumstances.

Terms of Service
By enrolling a child in The Story Studio, the enrolling parent or legal guardian agrees to the following terms.
Enrollment & Program Commitment
The Story Studio is a four-month theatre program designed as a progressive experience, with students moving from acting exercises and improvisation into rehearsal and a final theatrical showcase.
Enrollment reserves a limited place for the student for the entire four-month session and represents a commitment to the full program. The monthly payment option is a payment plan for the full program and is not a month-to-month membership.
Tuition & Payment
The total program cost is $750, consisting of:
$600 tuition for the four-month program
$150 one-time registration fee
Families may pay the full $750 at enrollment or select the monthly payment plan. Under the monthly plan, $300 is due at enrollment, consisting of the $150 registration fee and first month’s $150 tuition. The remaining tuition balance is paid in three monthly installments of $150.
By selecting the monthly payment plan, the enrolling parent or guardian agrees to pay all remaining installments when due.
Registration Fee
The $150 registration fee helps cover administrative and operating costs, program preparation, supplies, materials, and showcase-related expenses. The registration fee is non-refundable except if The Story Studio cancels the program before it begins.
Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations and refunds are governed by The Story Studio’s Cancellation & Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service.
Unless otherwise provided in that policy, enrollment in the monthly payment plan does not permit cancellation of the remaining tuition obligation after the program has begun.
Attendance & Missed Classes
Consistent attendance is important because students will be working collaboratively toward a theatrical showcase.
Tuition and fees are not prorated or refunded for classes missed because of illness, travel, scheduling conflicts, voluntary withdrawal, or other personal circumstances. The Story Studio cannot guarantee make-up classes for individual absences.
Student Conduct
The Story Studio is committed to creating a welcoming, creative, and respectful environment.
Students are expected to treat instructors, fellow students, facilities, equipment, and materials with respect and to follow reasonable instructions related to safety and participation.
The Story Studio reserves the right to address behavior that is disruptive, unsafe, or significantly interferes with the experience of other students. In serious or repeated circumstances, a parent or guardian may be asked to withdraw a student from the program.
Parent & Guardian Responsibilities
Parents or guardians are responsible for providing accurate enrollment, emergency contact, and relevant safety information and for notifying The Story Studio if that information changes during the program.
Parents or guardians are also responsible for timely student drop-off and pick-up in accordance with the program schedule and any procedures communicated by The Story Studio.
Health & Safety
Participation in theatre activities may involve movement, games, physical exercises, props, staging, and other age-appropriate activities.
Parents or guardians are responsible for informing The Story Studio of any information necessary to help their child participate safely. The Story Studio may modify or restrict participation in an activity when reasonably necessary for student or group safety.
Program & Schedule Changes
The Story Studio may make reasonable changes to instructors, activities, rehearsal plans, performance material, schedules, or other program elements when necessary.
If a class must be canceled by The Story Studio, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule the class when practical.
Final Showcase
The program is designed to culminate in a theatrical showcase. Participation in specific roles, scenes, or performance elements is determined by The Story Studio based on the needs of the production and participating students.
Enrollment does not guarantee a particular role, amount of stage time, or performance assignment.
Photography & Media
Any permission for The Story Studio to photograph, film, or otherwise record a student—and to use that material for promotional or other purposes—will be governed by a separate parent/guardian media release or consent.
Personal Property
Students are responsible for their personal belongings. The Story Studio is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items except where required by applicable law.
Program Cancellation
If The Story Studio cancels the program before it begins, families will receive a full refund of all tuition and registration fees paid.
If The Story Studio permanently cancels the program after it has begun, families will receive a prorated refund of tuition for the portion of the program that will not be provided. The registration fee is non-refundable once the program has begun.
Individual canceled classes that are rescheduled or otherwise made up do not qualify for a prorated refund.
Agreement
By completing enrollment and submitting payment, the enrolling parent or legal guardian confirms that they have read and agree to these Terms of Service and The Story Studio’s Cancellation & Refund Policy and have authority to enroll the participating child.
